Edit mode

Hold or double-tap the Goldfish key to refine any draft with typed or spoken instructions.

Hold the Goldfish key (or double-tap it) to open edit mode: a command bar appears over the focused field. Type or speak an instruction and Goldfish edits the draft in place.

Instructions

Anything you would tell an editor works:

• “make the second paragraph tighter”
• “translate to Swedish”
• “more formal, and end with a question”

Multiple rounds are fine, the bar stays open between instructions. Each instruction applies to the current state of the draft, so you can iterate until it reads right.

Speaking instead of typing

When voice dictation is enabled, hold the Goldfish key and speak: the spoken words become the edit instruction. This is the fastest way to steer a draft without leaving the keyboard home row. Set up the microphone on the Voice dictation page.

Closing the bar

Press Esc, or click anywhere outside the bar.
